Cough

I normally don't take medicine when I have cough.

But this time around, I needed to because my cough just won't heal.

I'm taking Carica Syrup. 2 tbsps before eating. I hope to be okay after 3 days of taking it to finally get rid of this cough.

Boil

One Friday afternoon, I noticed a pimple on my lower arm, near my elbows. Thinking it was a pimple, I was thankful that it didn't grew on my face.

However, it became so painful as couple of days went by. Another thing I noticed was that, it was reddening. Then, I suspected it was a boil. I hated having it, because I already hadone before and it was one of the worst things I ever experienced which also caused my keloid. I thought that I developed it because of the improvement reaction of Barley which I was intaking for a couple of days prior its growth.

It took 7 days before it became ripe. Imagine, I didn't took any medicine on the first 4 days after suspecting and confirming it was real boil. It was too painful and my entire arm was swelling but still I went to work. Only on the 4th day, I started taking 2 tablets of Acetaminophen (Pain Reliever) every 6 hours; and only on the 6th day, I started taking antibiotics because, I felt another one growing on my knee. On the same day, my Papa popped out some of the puss out of my elbow because I really can't take the pain anymore. Apparently, it wasn't still ripe enough, the eye of the boil was taken away only on the 7th day. And oh, it was sooooooooo painful but worth the relief! I swear. I asked my Papa to press all out the puss so that I won't have it again next time.When he pressed my arm, oh, that was terrible. I was crying like a child.

My mama told me, that I should have started taking antibiotics the moment I felt it was boil.
While my papa told me that I should have just rubbed vicks vaporub on it that moment I suspected it was a boil and it will no longer develop any longer.
Whew! I didn't know those tricks! If and only if!

The best trick of all, I will never ever eat street foods again. I recently craved for street foods like barbecue,  orange egg, etc... and maybe those were the cause of this suffering. I should inject my mind that no matter how hard I try to be as normal as others like eating such stuff, I shouldn't because I'm very susceptible to diseases and my skin is very sensitive.

I'll eat more fruits and veggies instead. Cleansing diet would be great!

Stye

Stye is a painful red bump located at the base of an eyelash or under or inside the eyelid. 

Months ago, I had this. Actually I first had the internal then after a month the external one.

Symptom:
1. Super Painful eye

What to do when you suspect you have stye?
1. Cold compress ONLY. When I tried giving the affected eye a hot compress, it became swollen.

Medication:
1. Since it was swelling badly, I needed to take antibiotics for a week.
2. Maxitrol eyedrop was recommended by the ophalmologist (1 drop, 3x a day)
3. Hot compress every 15 minutes.

Swelling subsided after 3-4 days after medication.

Keloid Solution

Keloid- a type of scar which is firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules, and can vary from pink to flesh-coloured or red to dark brown in colour.

I actually have two keloids already that flattened over years.

Unfortunately, I gained another one because of an accident that happened in our kitchen.

But when I used CONTRACTUBEX, the spot certainly flattened and not as visible as before I treated it.
This is what I used. I bought it in a local drugstore. Although, the ointment was too pricey. It was worth it.

Flattening was fast enough, because my other keloids took several years before they flattened. Thanks, Contractubex! You're now a bestfriend of mine!

Stay away from DEADLY DENGUE

There's an outbreak of DENGUE FEVER here in the Philippines right now. Every hospital is full of patients, may it be public or private hospitals, they all look like government hospitals--- unending lines, jampacked  OPDs and ERs because of thousand cases of dengue fever. Many patients recovered but there are some who died. Dengue is not just a mere fever, it's deadly and can take the lives of your love one's if you take the fever for granted.

But what is Dengue Fever?
How would I know if someone I know is suffering from such?
What should I do to avoidit?

Dengue Fever is a disease transmitted by mosquitoes. The person bitten by mosquito most likely will have or will feel headache, fever, exhaustion, severe muscle and joint pains, swollen glands and rashes, gums may also bleed, eyes may suffer from pain, palms and soles may be so red.

We all know that cleaning our surroundings would help alleviate the mosquitoes in our houses as well communities but we really can't deny the fact that the earth that we live is no longer clean as it was a number of decades before. So the best ways to stay away from the deadly dengue are the following: (These are actual suggestions of the Doctor I sought today for my check-up)

1.)Drink 3 liters of water. 8 glasses is not enough.Again, 3LITERS.
2.) Drink Vitamin C. Strengthen your resistance and Immunity from diseases.
3.) Eat proper diet. Avoid fatty foods.
4.) Sleep early.

There, so I'm bidding tata now. I have to sleep early, I should be following the doctor's advice.

* Had my check-up. CBC was also taken. Result: NEGATIVE!!! Praise God!

* Not feeling good today but since it's QC day, I rested the entire day at home.

* I got my Professional fee for 4 hours from the other school.

*My student did well in her assessment today. We only have to train her the dressing/undressing as well as toilet training. In terms of cognitive, she's okay.

* Had no classes in the afternoon.

* I was quiet sick and I wanted to blow-up. I wasn't feeling good the entire day.

* Myke and I finally reconciled personally.

* He told me to rest. Before he left I asked him what date he wanted for our wedding if he wants it on Oct 12 or 20. He answered me, "Anything that will make you happy. I'm happy when you are."

* Super traffic. I was late at work. But at least my student was okay.

* My Dad and I exchanged the $$$ safely.

*Had some bonding moments with Papa.

* Myke and I somehow reconciled today. I missed him.

Postponement

From then on, I've always dreamed to see it and I won't let go of this dream because know oneday, someday, I'll be able to fulfill it.

* Bright day for our family. We finally got the car. Papa asked someone to drive him and the car home because he was scared to drive it yet.

* Hone wasn't able to go to office today but God gave me wisdom to do the tasks that needed to be done.

Water for Elephants

I knew that the title came from a book and I got surprised when I saw that it was already turned into a movie. I got the luxury of time to watch this film today. Artists included Reese Witherspoon (Marlena), Robert Pattinson (Jacob) and Christoph Waltz (August). Plot: Jacob was about to take his examination when he received the news that his parents died in a car accident and left him penniless. He left school and found himself joining a circus as their vet. There, he was amazed of Marlena's beauty who was under the control of August.

It was okay. Artists of the movie acted very well. However, the story itself lacks something. The movie made me cry when Rosy, the elephant was hit by August because one of their town shows became a mild disaster. Later, in the movie, Jacob found out that Rosy follow commands in a different language, I think it was a German language.:) I'd give the movie 7 stars out of 10.

Well, Hello again Anti-Histamines!

I have allergies. It developed when I was in high school. I remember I always get patches of bulgy lumps on my skin when I or somebody touch or press me too much. Yet, believe me in 10 minutes my skin will be back to its normal condition.

I remember getting hospitalized several times because of allergies to the extent that doctors needed to inject  me with steroids because oral medications didn't work. Chicken, eggs, dairy products, chocolates, sea foods and other more were banned for me. Plus, I needed to maintain taking my anti-histamines. After three consecutive months of taking anti-histamines, my mother suggested that I should stop taking the medicine because she said that it's bad for me to become dependent on it, she also allowed me to eat the foods that were banned for me by the doctor so that I'll get use to all of it. She wanted me to expose myself more to these allergens.

Then, when I was in college, I noticed that my allergies rarely appeared. My mom's recommendation was effective. I also thought that I outgrew it. I was glad that my skin went back in its perfect condition.

However, when I got stressed at my first job because of my devilish-godzilla boss, I felt and thought that all my histamines popped-out again, I got hospitalized. I developed allergies once more and it took several months before my skin went back to it's normal smoothness. I then realized that allergens are not just about food intake or dust. I was also allergic of  the inconsiderate, bad-tempered boss that I had. LOL

I'm blogging this because the season of my allergies came again for almost a month now due to imperfect weather conditions, maybe foods also contribute a little and also because of stress due to my fiance's business.

So now, I'm back to taking anti-histamines. I don't want it but I need it. Somehow, it helps to relieve the itchiness but there are times that I think I needed a higher dosage. So far, I haven't consulted the doctor yet because they might recommend me to stay in the hospital again which I can't afford doing due to my job.

 Please, my dear histamines, relax and slumber in my system, I don't want you!

I hope to get well very soon!

Travel back in time

I wish I could travel back in time, five years back, when everything between us were only pleasant things, positive views, happy days, everyday romantic dates.

 
It's so hard to admit that I am having sad feelings like this but this thing about us is reaching my nose level that makes me hard to breath at times especially when we can't finish talking because he needed to do these and that. We no longer look like couples when we're together rather we look more just mere friends. Geez! I have no doubts about my love for him, it is certain that it is he that I want for life and I am also certain that it is I whom he wants to spend the rest of his life with... but I can't contain the feelings of uneasiness and tremble at times because of the challenge placed on both our shoulders. I feel very sad on how we turned out like this. :(

I know this is just stress, with quality time, the flames of our love will be renewed.

Reusing Water Bottles

I was aware that you can't reuse water bottles for several times cause it is dangerous most especially if the bottle has been left in the car and exposed to heat. I received an email before that it was cancerous, so from the time I learned that I stopped doing that. I even shared this information to my parents and friends to warn them too.

However, a couple of days ago, my father told me that his attention was caught by his boss. The conversation went like this:

Boss: Ah, excuse me, Ramon, please come here.
Papa: Yes, boss?
Boss: I noticed you're reusing this bottled water.Don't reuse water bottles, it is deadly to your health. When you want to reuse a water bottle, check the triangular-shaped marking under the water bottle and look at the number written on it. If it says,"1", it is disposable, you can't reuse it. However, if it says,"5", then you can use it five times.
Papa: Oh, I didn't know that Sir. Thank you for telling me.

When Papa finished telling me the incident, I scolded my him saying, "Why? Didn't I tell you not to reuse water bottles? Okay now, so you listen okay, I'm aware reusing water bottles especially those that are kept in the car is cancerous. However, I didn't know about the triangular thingy. That made sense!"
